One of this types of blade is the Demon 35066 14 Inch 66 Tooth Metal Cold Cut Saw Blade.

The Demon 35066 14 inch, 66 tooth metal cold cut saw blade, comes with 1 in arbor, new in package. Fresh off retail shelf. This is a carbide metal cutting blades will fit any 14 inch cold cut metal saw.

Another one is the M2 HSS Cold Saw Blades - This solid HSS cold saw blades are usually made from either M2 tool steel or M35 tool steel, alloyed with additional cobalt. Solid HSS cold saw blades are heat treated and hardened to 64/65 HRc. This high rockwell hardness gives the cutting edges of the teeth a high resistance to heat and wear. These blades are press quenched after hardening to prevent them from being warped. The term high speed steel (HSS) doesn't necessarily mean what it implies.

These blades are usually run at surface speeds lower than 350 SFM. Solid HSS cold saw blades may be used for cutting many different shapes and types of metal including: tubes, extrusions, structural sections, billets, bars, ingots, castings, forgings etc.

The third one is the Coated HSS Cold Saw Blades - M2 and M35-Cobalt(E) HSS saw blades are available in many different configurations. These blades are heat treated and press quenched to ensure flatness and low runout. The "E" designates a higher quality material, which is additionally alloyed with cobalt. Metal cutting circular saw blades in this grade of steel are used for materials which are difficult to machine such as stainless steel, titanium or other material grades with higher strength. This material is also perfectly suited to all applications in which longer blade life is needed.

Several brand are available in the market worldwide. Here we will discuss the features to look for when choosing a circular saw.

Bigger is usually better:

Circular saws come in a few different sizes (based on the diameter of the saw blade) from 4" to the most common size, 7-1/4". They also tend to be rated by horsepower and / or RPM of the saw blade.

When choosing the best circular saw, a good rule is to buy one that has greater power than other models of the same size. While a 1-HP 7-1/4 "circular saw, it would probably be appropriate, I like the models that are at least two horsepower, because it is less likely to bind when under a load.

Saw Settings:

Circular saws have controls to adjust the depth of cut (from zero to about 2-3/8 "in a typical pattern of 7-1/4") and the bevel of the cut (the saw blade can be beveled zero to 45-degrees). Please check that the controls are easy to adjust and can be securely tightened to maintain the depth or angle. Some models use relatively large lever type controls where others used a little more than a wing nut.

Safety Features:

Circular saws all have some basic safety features. Make sure the saw you are considering has a safety switch, which must be held before the trigger can be depressed. It should also be a blade guard moves easily by pushing the saw through the wood, but arises in place when the saw is far from the stock.

As with all tools, circular saws can be very dangerous if not used correctly. Always read, understand and follow the safety instructions that come with the saw.

Additional features:

Better quality saws use additional features such as an anti-lock clutch, which are the flanges on both sides of the blade allowing the blade to slip if the blade binds on the stock, to protect the motor and mechanism of the unit. Another useful feature is the blade lock, which locks the drive shaft in place, making it easier to change the saw blade.

A. C. Power vs. Battery-saws engines:

A recent development in circular saw is powered by a battery of 4 inch blade models. These are great for small cutting, such as panels of plywood or 1/4-inch. They are lightweight and perfect when you need to achieve a high cut. However, they are lacking in horsepower, and are not very useful for cutting more than a 2x4s. I would definitely recommend having one of these battery packs in hand, but not until a number of other tools in your arsenal.

So get the best circular saw for your arsenal.

Table Saw Blades

CHOOSING THE RIGHT TABLE SAW BLADES

There is an enormous selection of table saw blades out there, and picking the right ones for your particular needs can be confusing. But don’t worry, the choices aren’t as difficult as you might think, and you won’t have to cut back on groceries to get the blades you need.

THERE ARE FOUR BASIC BLADE TYPES, determined by the shape, or grind, of their teeth. They are fl at top grind (FTG), alternate top bevel (ATB), combination (ATBR), and triple-chip grind (TCG)

FTG blades have teeth whose top edges are square to the saw plate. Also called rakers, these teeth attack the wood much like a chisel chopping out the ends of a mortise. They’re fast cutting and durable, but don’t produce a clean surface. They’re designed to rip, sawing perpendicular to the grain.

The teeth on ATB blades are angled across the top edge, with every other tooth “leaning” in the opposite direction. The shape of the tooth causes it to shear the wood fibers cleanly using a slicing motion. The steeper the bevel angle, the cleaner the teeth cut, but the quicker they dull. Most 40-tooth ATB blades are marketed as “all-purpose” blades.

Combination blades consist of 50 teeth arranged in sets of five, with four ATB teeth followed by a raker tooth (thus the ATBR designation.) The ATB teeth are designed to crosscut cleanly while the raker teeth aid in ripping. Combination blades are also considered “all-purpose” blades. The teeth on a TCG blade alternate between a raker tooth and a chamfered tooth. The chamfered tooth roughs out the cut, while the following FTG tooth cleans it up.

How to Change a Table Saw Blade

Table saws are used on job sites and in garage workshops for cutting wood. Mount your table saw to a workbench or sturdy table before using, and never mount your table saw with the blade directly in line with yourself or another person. A table saw is every builder's dream tool, but safety precautions and proper rules must be followed. When setting up the table saw or during maintenence, always unplug the tool, especially when changing the saw blade.

Step 1 - Remove the two screws that hold the blade plate to the top of the saw table, and lift off the plate.

Step 2 - Insert a small allen wrench into the arbor hole on top of the saw table. Use the longer end of the allen wrench.

Step 3 - Rotate the saw blade manually until the allen wrench drops into place, preventing the blade from turning.

Step 4 - Place the smaller end of a larger allen wrench into the socket head cap screw on the side of the blade.

Step 5 - Turn the screw with the allen wrench counterclockwise until it is loosened. Take off the screw, the washer and then the table saw blade.

Step 6 - Install a new table saw blade. Replace the washer and then the screw. Using the allen wrench, tighten the screw.

Step 7 - Replace the blade plate and tighten the table top screws securely.

Tips & Warnings

Always keep the blade plate at least 1/32-inch from the blade. You can slide the blade plate away or toward the blade, depending on the thickness of the blade.

Never change a table saw blade without first unplugging the tool. Be careful when changing a table saw blade. The blades are very sharp.

Some common brand of table saw blades available in the market.

1, Oshlun SDS-0842 8-Inch 42-tooth Stack Dado Set with 5/8-Inch Arbor

- Our 16 piece stack dado sets are perfect for woodworker’s who want a premium cut at an affordable price. It is important to ensure that you use the right size sheet.

Step 1 - Unplug the saw and lock the power cord. Locking the power cord will ensure that no one accidentally plug the saw while you're changing the blade.

Step 2 - Locate and activate the motor block. This button is located at the junction between the motor housing and the upper blade guard. Activate the lock by pressing the button and rotate the blade until it stops.

Step 3 - With a wrench, turn the blade bolt to the right (clockwise) to loosen. Remember turning the screw on the left to the left (counterclockwise) will tighten the screw.

Step 4 - Remove the blade screw and washer. Move the disc protector and remove the blade.

Step 5 - Place the new sheet in the correct location. Check that the rotation of the blade is right for the saw. The tips of the teeth should be facing downward.

Step 6 - Replace the blade washer and bolt. Using the wrench, turn the screw clockwise to tighten. Do not over tighten.

Step 7 - Unlock cable and test the saw.

Tips & Warnings

Remember that the carbide blades will last longer. Craftsman includes a wrench for this procedure with the saw.

Do not over-tighten the screws, it will tighten further during use and could break. Remember that the blade bolt is reverse-threaded, right (or clockwise) to loosen.

Metal Cutting Saw Blades

Choose high-quality metal cutting saw blades and metal circular saw blades with a good cutting rate and long wheel life. The development of metal cutting circular saw blades of this situation has changed dramatically.

Metal cutting circular saw have been around for a while, but the saws are designed to use a recent development. A metal cutting circular saw is designed to operate at slower speeds, which they actually do the cutting blades more efficient.

Faster, but slower

Metal cutting circular saw blades cut faster than other metal cutting methods. Although metal cutting blade enters the slower material, finished cutting time is faster.

The slower speeds and sharp circular saw blades for metal cutting as well as leaving more fresh material after cutting. Cooler cutting materials result in a working environment faster and not have to wait for the metal to cool before handling.

Reducing the cost in half

Metal cutting circular saw drastically reduce the cost per cut. A typical grinding wheel averages about 60 cuts before it needs to be replaced. A metal cutting circular saw blade can cut many more than 2,000 cuts before it wears out. Even with a higher initial cost, a metal cutting blade cuts the cost by half.

Metal cutting Cleaner

A metal cutting circular saw blades leave a cleaner cut than an abrasive wheel. The design of a metal cutting blade result in a burr-free cutting. You will not stop after each cut to present in a cut piece.

Metal cutting circular saw are also constructed with metal clip collector to limit the amount of waste related to metal cutting. Although you can use a metal cutting blade with a conventional circular saw, the saw could be damaged by metal shavings into the motor housing.

Metal Cutting Band Saw Blades

There are many manufacturer of metal cutting band saw blades out there. If you are ripping 8-foot plywood, then make the guide of 8 feet long. You may desired to make of several guides of different lengths.

Step 2 - Get another 2-inch wide board or strips of wood that is thin enough so that when your circular saw rests up against it the body of the saw will clear over it. This board will be the guide. Set the band on the plywood so that the blade is about 1 inch from the edge when the saw is supported against the guide plate.

Step 3 - Rip down your wood with the saw resting against the guide board.

To use the guide, simply draw a line on the board being cut. Clamp the guide on the edge of the guide aligned with the drawn line. By default, the cut will coincide with the line from the saw cut will always be flush with the edge. Be sure to use the same type of replacement sheet as different blades have slightly different cuts. There is no place for the measurement of the guide, only to draw the line and clamp!

10 saw blades

There are many types of 10"saw blades around.
